Teacher in Food and Nutrition Science at Folk High School

We are seeking an experienced teacher to instruct in health with an emphasis on food and nutrition science at one of Sweden's most renowned vocational programs in health, diet, and exercise. We are quality-assured by several industry organizations.

About the workplace

The school provides room for development for both participants and staff. We have a good structure and dedicated employees working to fulfill the goals and purpose of adult education.

The school is a short walk from Jakobsbergs centrum. Since 1919, we have been located in an old mansion with our own lunch restaurant. The hundred-year-old oaks frame our beautiful assembly hall where we often gather for joint lectures.

In addition to our general courses, the school offers programs in health, journalism, writing, art, leadership, and more.

About the position and your experience

For the teacher role, subject knowledge and relevant education from a college/university are required to teach at our post-secondary vocational program for Health Developer. Your profile may vary, but fundamental is that you have broad experience and competence in the subject of health with deep knowledge in food and nutrition science. You need to have good industry insight and be anchored in the labor market through documented professional experience as a dietitian, nutritionist, health educator, or similar. We look favorably on those with a folk high school teacher education or other adult pedagogical training or equivalent.

You will work in our learning platform, with our cloud storage services, and in our school administrative system with, for example, permissions and study documentation.

The employment

Extent 20 percent, teaching one day a week on Thursdays.

The position is a temporary contract until December 22, 2026. Start date August 17, 2026 or by agreement.
