About the School

The school is beautifully located on Gnestahöjden, a ten-minute walk from Gnesta train station, 40 minutes from Stockholm C. The principal is a non-profit association founded in 1993. Gnesta is a growing municipality, and we are a modern Waldorf school that continuously grows and develops with nearly 190 students distributed from preschool class to year 9 and after-school care.

Gnesta Waldorf School is characterized by a holistic view of students, aiming to develop the whole person – thought, feeling, and will. Some distinguishing features of our pedagogy include cross-disciplinary thematic periods and the goal of integrating creative activities such as art, crafts, and music into all school subjects.

The Employment

The position is a permanent employment at 80-100%, starting with a 6-month probationary period. Start date is August 10, 2026.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a class teacher in Year 1, with the national curriculum Lgr 22 as a foundation and Waldorf pedagogy as the method and approach.

You will be part of a teaching team that collectively works to ensure students reach their highest potential.

As a class teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating students' education, both individually and together with colleagues, student health teams, and school management. You should also promote good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians through meetings and documentation.

Qualifications

• State teaching license or Waldorf teacher license.
• You find it easy to create a creative environment for students, where relationship-building is a natural part of daily life.
• You have the ability to spark curiosity and wonder in your students.
• Knowledge of and/or interest in Waldorf pedagogy and the willingness to develop as a teacher and as a person.
• Several years of experience in the profession is meritorious.
