We are now recruiting a unit manager for the administrative unit at Kammarkollegiet's Insurance Department, where you, together with other management colleagues and employees, play an important role in leading and developing our operations!
Kammarkollegiet functions as a capital manager, insurance company, procurement unit, and legal firm for the public administration. Among our many assignments from parliament and government is insuring government operations. Kammarkollegiet's Insurance Department simply acts as the state's insurance company, working with risk management and claims adjustment for government agencies and foundations. Our operations cover the insurance areas of personal, travel, business, and vehicles, totaling around 30 different insurance products. Kammarkollegiet's Insurance Department has just over 40 employees divided into three units and a staff.
We are now seeking a unit manager for our administrative unit, which is divided into a function for insurance administration and a function for departmental and office administration.
The insurance administration function works on issuing insurance policies and managing premium models, as well as financially monitoring and analyzing insurance agreements. The unit also provides information and service to customers regarding the content of agreements and insurance terms via email and phone. The function's insurance officers handle ongoing insurance processing and develop workflows and contribute to improvements in system support.
The departmental and office administration function is responsible for handling incoming cases, mail processing, and archiving, as well as controls in payment processing, etc. It is also responsible for ordering to ensure necessary office supplies, etc., are available and that the premises function and are well-maintained.
Our operations are currently undergoing extensive digitalization, where we are developing e-services and platforms to ensure more efficient processing and high service. We offer a new activity-based office in Karolinen, Karlstad.
Job Description
As unit manager, you lead and develop the operations together with your nine employees. The role includes both operational and strategic work, where you are responsible for ensuring a well-functioning workflow, following up on employees' work situations, and maintaining continuous dialogue at both group and individual levels. You have an overall responsibility for analyzing, monitoring, and setting goals for the operations, and together with management colleagues, collectively contribute to the management and development of the department as a whole. The role includes extensive external contacts with insured organizations, which are primarily other authorities.
The tasks are largely characterized by the ongoing digitalization within the department. This means a clear focus on change and development of both processes and system support. As a manager, you are expected to have a genuine commitment to this development and, together with employees, contribute to creating sustainable, structured, and efficient work methods.
You also actively participate in the development of the department's working methods and are part of the Insurance Department's management group, where you are expected to actively collaborate and share information. In your role, you report to the Head of the Insurance Department. Travel in the service may occur.
Are you our new unit manager?
We are looking for someone who has:
- Academic education in the social sciences, preferably with a focus on economics. Alternatively, you have equivalent education that Kammarkollegiet deems comparable.
- Several years of current and varied managerial experience.
- Knowledge of information management and information governance.
- Experience in leading operational development.
- High IT maturity and an interest in developing working methods together with employees.
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
You are a stable and results-oriented leader who is confident in the managerial and employer role. You have a constructive and inclusive approach with the ability to structure and drive towards achieving common goals. You are also a communicative and situationally adaptive leader who can meet employees based on their experience and engagement. As a person, you are strategic, development-oriented with a good ability to collaborate, build trust, and create good relationships both internally and externally. You have an analytical approach and can produce well-founded documentation to support positions and decisions.
