We are looking for a press spokesperson for Communications Region East. With us, you will grow together with engaged and knowledgeable colleagues and gain lifelong experience, while your work contributes to the police's mission to increase safety and reduce crime.
You will be part of Communications Region East, which consists of 13 employees, including six press spokespersons, five communicators, one web editor, and one manager.
Job Description
As a press spokesperson, you receive and handle calls from the media in both the regional command center and the media center, and serve as the agency's spokesperson on operational issues. You work closely with the duty officer in the regional command center and the individuals who will speak on various matters. In your role, you also work proactively to convey the Swedish Police Authority's messages.
In addition, you collaborate with press spokespersons across the country, with press secretaries at the National Media Center, and with others within the communications department. You also have contact with individuals from other authorities and organizations as needed.
Main responsibilities:
- Receive and handle incoming calls from the media
- Act as spokesperson and represent the authority in operational matters/cases
- Write news, press releases, key messages, talking points, and create social media posts.
- Lead communication efforts and/or participate in work during special events
- Conduct media training, coach for interviews, and manage press conferences
- Collaborate with the team on the region's priority areas.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant education for the position, or equivalent competence assessed by the employer as comparable
- Recent experience in media contacts deemed relevant by the employer
- Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English
- Experience in editorial text processing and news evaluation
- Swedish citizenship
It is an advantage if you have:
- Experience advising managers and colleagues on media issues
- Experience coaching for interviews
- Experience working with various digital channels and tools
- Experience producing communication materials
- Experience handling classified information
Personal qualities

Additional Information
Employment type: Permanent position
Work location: Linköping
Working hours: Period planning 5:3. Work includes shift work including holidays, evenings, and weekends, as well as 24-hour on-call duty according to schedule. The work primarily requires physical presence.
