Description

Head of Department – Individual and Family Care (IFO) at Timrå Municipality

Do you want to make a real difference – for real?

In this role, you will have the opportunity to impact people's everyday lives, lead an important operation, and together with others develop the social services of the future in Timrå Municipality.

We are looking for someone who wants to take overall responsibility for individual and family care – and who is driven to create quality, development, and results for those we serve. Here, you will work closely with both operations and management, in an organization where your ideas and leadership make a difference.

About the assignment

As Head of Department for IFO, you will have a broad and significant responsibility for operations, finances, and personnel. You will lead through your unit managers and play a key role in creating direction, structure, and engagement across the entire organization.

The operations are organized into three units:

  • Adult Support
  • Sustainable Livelihoods
  • Children and Family

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing operations based on political goals and legislation
  • Ensuring high-quality work that creates sustainable results
  • Driving development of working methods and organization – focusing on what creates the most impact
  • Creating good conditions for employees to thrive, grow, and succeed in their roles
  • Building and strengthening collaboration, both within the municipality and with external actors

You will report to the Head of Administration and be part of the Social Services management team, where you will work together for the greater whole.

With us, you will have an assignment where your contribution truly makes a difference for people.

We are a municipality with short decision-making paths, close collaborations, and a strong will to develop. There is room for both innovation and long-term thinking.

You will get:

  • a broad, developmental assignment with great authority
  • the opportunity to influence both working methods and future direction
  • to work in an organization where relationships, collaboration, and trust are central
  • to be part of developing welfare for Timrå's residents

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Social Work or other relevant academic education in social work
  • Several years of experience in leading and developing operations at both strategic and operational levels
  • Experience working in a politically governed organization

We consider it meritorious if you have experience leading through other managers.

Who are you?

You are a confident, communicative, and clear leader who builds trust. You drive development work and have the ability to engage and involve people.

You have a holistic perspective and can prioritize in a complex everyday life, while being structured and decisive with a clear direction in your work.

You possess both drive and care – and a desire to make a difference together with others.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

A greeting from your future manager:

I am now looking for a new member for our management team – come and be part of our dedicated team! Here, there is a strong drive, good collaboration, and a will to continuously develop. In your role, you will make a real difference – and you won't do it alone. I will be there as support through close collaboration, trust, and open dialogue.

Welcome with your application!
