About the school
LM Engström Upper Secondary School is an independent upper secondary school with a Christian profile in the spiritual tradition of the Swedish Church, located in central Gothenburg, right next to the vibrant city center. The historic buildings have previously been used by both Gothenburg's oldest upper secondary school and the Diocese of Gothenburg as a residence for the bishop. It is only a few minutes' walk to the cathedral, where the school's students and staff gather every week. The school has about 600 students in one of the four programs offered: economics, arts, science, and social sciences. The school is a popular choice for many students, meaning not all students who wish to attend can be offered a place. The staff consists of about 60 people, the vast majority of whom are teachers. The school's teachers belong to one of five subject-based teaching teams. The school's principal is Peter Isaac Béen's Educational Foundation, a non-profit foundation.
