Sundsgården seeks Deputy Principal

Sundsgårdens folk high school was founded in 1938 and is beautifully located with views of the Öresund Strait. We are one of Sweden's larger folk high schools with over 350 course participants, around 70 of whom live at the school's boarding facilities. The school operates, among other things, general courses corresponding to upper secondary school and year 9, vocational training, theater and music education, and short courses. We also run a hotel and conference facility. We rest on a Christian and democratic value base and actively work with our responsibility for a sustainable world economically, socially, and environmentally.

The school is led by the Principal and CEO, and you report to this person. You are part of the management group, which consists of four managers representing the entire operations of Sundsgården. You are also an adjunct member of the Sundsgården board.

Areas of responsibility and duties

· You hold pedagogical responsibility for half of the school's education programs and courses (determined by agreement) and personnel responsibility for half of the pedagogical staff.

· You are responsible for workload distribution, scheduling, academic year planning, and substitute staffing.

· You supervise the school administrator and have overall responsibility for school administration.

· Together with the principal, you drive projects and work with quality assurance, follow-up, and reporting of school operations.

· You are involved in external outreach and collaborate with the communicator and study and career counselor.

· You lead the student health team and cooperate with the student council.

Qualifications

Education and work experience

· Experience of school leadership at a folk high school is meritorious, or good knowledge of the folk high school working methods.

· You have relevant university education.

· Completed principal training is meritorious, especially principal training for folk high schools.

· Experience of school leadership or other managerial roles is meritorious, as is experience of personnel responsibility.

· You have good competence in administrative work.

- is structured and administratively experienced.

- is driven and able to organize the work for you and your colleagues.

- has good social and pedagogical ability.

- preferably works in a team and cooperates well with managers and colleagues.

- is aware of developments in the world.

- has very good communication skills in speech and writing.

- shares the Christian value base at Sundsgården.

Extent

Permanent employment 100%, probationary period 6 months.

Start date

Start date 1 August 2026 or as agreed.
