Experienced Project Engineer - Infrastructure (Road/Railway)
Description
Do you want to work in some of Sweden's most socially important infrastructure projects? We are now looking for an experienced project engineer who wants to take a central role in projects related to road and railway development.
As a project engineer, you will work closely with the project manager and be a key person in the project's implementation. You contribute both operationally and strategically in several project management areas and can also act as deputy project manager when needed.
Your main responsibilities
Lead and manage
- Act as a support and sounding board for the project manager and the project organization
- Participate in the development and follow-up of project governing documents
- Drive and prepare project issues
Time planning
- Establish and follow up project schedules
- Report status to project management, client, and controller
Financial management
- Work with budgeting, forecasts, and financial follow-up
- Manage invoices and financial documentation in relevant systems (e.g., PLS, CDI)
Requirements and quality work
- Participate in the development and follow-up of control programs and requirement lists
- Ensure that quality requirements are met throughout the project
Risk management
- Coordinate the project's risk work
- Identify, document, and follow up on risks and action plans
Procurement
- Support in drawing up assignment descriptions and tender documents
Administration
- Responsible for documentation, meeting minutes, and reporting
- Structure and manage project information in system support
- Prepare presentations and decision basis
Qualifications (requirements)
To succeed in the role, we see that you have:

- Relevant university education (at least 180 credits) in engineering, economics, or civil engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 5 years of experience (within the last 8 years) as a project engineer in road or railway projects, including at least 2 consecutive years
- Experience in independently working with budget, calculation, time planning, and risk management in infrastructure projects
- Good system proficiency, including experience with Trafikverket-related systems (e.g., C7, Projektportalen, MS Project, Exonaut Risk or equivalent)
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience supporting colleagues in a project environment
- Very good Swedish in both speech and writing, and a driving license (B)
Meritorious
- Experience from larger Trafikverket projects
- Experience acting in a leading or coordinating role
- Good understanding of public procurement
