Description

Do you want to make a real difference for the industry and northern Sweden?

Our region is one of the most expansive in the country. At the same time, pressure on the industry is increasing. Companies need to transition to more sustainable production solutions, find the right skills, and build networks for the future. IUC Norr plays an important role here.

We drive change by translating insights into concrete initiatives. With a deep understanding of industrial companies' needs and with regional strategies and development plans as steering tools, we can stay ahead and offer the right initiatives. A foresight that benefits both companies and society as a whole.

We are now seeking project managers who want to help translate this into concrete projects together with the industry and our collaborative partners.

About the Role

Based on identified needs in the industry, we have initiated several new project applications and are now awaiting decisions. This creates good opportunities in the role to help translate new initiatives into concrete actions together with companies and collaborative partners.

As a project manager with us, you work in close collaboration with industrial companies, public actors, and academia. You lead projects that strengthen companies' competitiveness and development capabilities.

The projects always stem from real needs; we do not guess but use analyses, dialogue, and collaboration with our networks to identify what is needed here and now and moving forward.

The initiatives span across our four focus areas: smart industry, skills supply, sustainable transition, and insight-driven industrial development.

This may include initiatives to strengthen companies' work with digitalization and data-driven methods, contribute to the right skills and skills development, energy efficiency, develop sustainable and circular business models, strengthen companies' preparedness and resilience, and work insight-based with analyses of needs and value flows.

Your Responsibilities

Our working method is based on needs analyses and close dialogue with companies, ensuring that projects always stem from real needs in the industry. The role includes:

  • planning, implementing, and following up on projects
  • driving activities such as workshops, networks, and meetings
  • working closely with companies and acting as a sounding board in their development
  • identifying needs and linking them to the right initiatives and funding
  • building relationships, collaborating, and co-creating with public actors
  • contributing to developing new project ideas and applications
  • building and developing relationships and collaborations between companies, the public sector, and academia

Travel is included in the position, mainly within Norrbotten and Västerbotten, but other travel may occur.

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking you who are

  • structured and make things happen
  • solution-oriented and thrive in change
  • relationship-building

You take ideas from concept to implementation. You create structure, prioritize, and drive work forward—even when conditions change or are not entirely clear from the start. You are comfortable in an environment where much is in motion. You see opportunities, adapt, and find ways forward together with others. You build trust with companies, colleagues, and partners. You thrive in dialogue and are good at getting people to work toward the same goals.

You likely have:

  • relevant university or college education
  • experience in project management or development work
  • experience with the conditions and challenges of the industry
  • good ability to plan and drive work forward
  • good communication skills in Swedish and English

It is meritorious if you have experience in industrial operations or production development, innovation or development projects, and/or regionally, nationally, or EU-funded work.

Why You Should Work With Us

With us, you work right in the industrial development of northern Sweden. You become part of a context where we, together with companies and partners, make things happen.

We offer:

  • work where you contribute to the development of the industry and region
  • a strong network of companies, experts, and collaborative partners
  • projects with a clear connection to real needs and future challenges
  • great opportunities for responsibility and personal development
  • a collaborative environment where we learn from each other

We work based on our values: foresighted, credible, and relationship-building.
