Description
Svedala is an attractive and growing municipality with opportunities for a lifetime. We strive for attractive and health-promoting workplaces to offer services of the highest quality. The municipality has about 1,600 employees and 23,000 residents. We work together to create security, participation, and quality of life for our residents.
The Role
Bara Day Center is an open meeting place for seniors living in their own homes. Here, we offer a warm and inclusive environment where visitors can participate in activities such as bingo, seated exercise, lectures, and music sessions – or just come in for conversation and a cup of coffee. The premises are also used for initiatives from our seniors themselves.
As an elderly care educator at Bara Day Center, you will have an active role in managing and developing meaningful activities and contributing to preventing involuntary loneliness. Important work for both the individual and for a socially sustainable society.
The position includes:
- planning, implementing, and developing activities
- working preventively with a focus on countering involuntary loneliness
- conducting outreach activities towards seniors in need of support and community
- serving as a guiding contact and navigator within elderly care
- collaborating with various interest associations in the municipality and other operations within elderly care
You work independently with significant personal responsibility, while collaborating with other actors both internally and externally.
Competence
We are looking for you who are educated as an elderly care educator or have other education that the employer considers equivalent. As a person, you are curious, creative, and flexible. You thrive in a role where you get to work independently and take your own initiatives, especially when developing and implementing activities that create meaning and community for our seniors.
You are good at building relationships and creating engagement, which is crucial when meeting seniors in various life situations and working to strengthen their participation in a successful way. You meet every person with warmth and respect and contribute to creating a safe and welcoming environment at the Day Center. With clear drive, you see opportunities where others see obstacles and are motivated by contributing to the development of preventive work within elderly care in Svedala.
Furthermore, it is important to have good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing, good IT skills, and a B driver's license. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
