Special Education Teacher
International English School is now seeking a special education teacher starting in August 2026.
International English School in Östersund is a bilingual school for students in grades F-9. Our school offers a safe and orderly environment, and we are firmly committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
We are looking for a special education teacher with strong dedication to student learning, health, and development. The role involves working towards a well-functioning student health system to support students' development towards educational goals.
- The main tasks include:
- Assessing the needs of students and groups
- Working directly with student(s) in small groups
- Planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions
- Participating in the school's systematic quality work
Qualifications:
We are seeking you who have Swedish teacher certification as well as additional training to become a special education teacher or have experience in special education. You have previous experience working with children and youth.
Previous experience as a teacher and special education teacher in compulsory school is meritorious. Very good Swedish and English in speech and writing is a requirement for the position.
The work requires that you are confident in your professional role, can work independently, are proactive, and have a good ability to see opportunities in various situations. As a person, you have a good approach and a strong ability to plan and prioritize your work. You have good collaboration skills and an interest in working together in teams with different professional categories. Your approach is relational and focused on health-promoting and preventive work. You are flexible, attentive, and adept at building trust and good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great importance on your personal qualities.
Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis.
