
Substitute chef/cold buffet attendant at Gräsviken course and camp center for summer 2026
Description
Gräsviken course and camp center is operated and owned by the Church of Sweden in Trollhättan and serves as a meeting place for all ages through various camps, retreats, courses, and conferences.
The camp center is beautifully situated in nature by the shore of Öresjö. The nearest city is Trollhättan. In addition to the course and camp center, there is a guest cottage and a chapel. The Church of Sweden in Trollhättan works together with others to create a place where everyone is included and where people can meet and grow.
We expect that applicants share the core values of the Church of Sweden and have a genuine drive forward. You will be an important cog in a smaller work team, welcoming and engaging with guests by fostering a good collaborative climate and an inviting environment.
During summer/vacation time, it is high season in the operation. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in food and who enjoys the various tasks involved. The food is well-prepared from scratch, and groups range from ten to fifty people. At Gräsviken, you also collaborate with volunteers based on the needs of the operation. Currently, there are two chefs and an operations manager. Working hours are scheduled, varying, and include weekend duties, daytime/evening shifts.
Working as a chef/cold buffet attendant with us includes, among other things, that you
- Prepare meals including special diets according to orders.
- Serving, dishwashing, and cleaning in the kitchen, serving area, and dining room.
- Ensure that environmental and health requirements regarding personal and food hygiene are met (HACCP).
- Have basic work environment knowledge and take responsibility.
- Have good skills in using IT systems and mobile devices in the work.
We are looking for you who have
- Documented chef education at least at high school level. Documented experience is meritorious.
- Class B driver's license
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
- Good knowledge of digital environments including mobile usage.
- Are confident, self-reliant, and enjoy collaborating with others.
- Prioritize wisely even under higher workload.
- Are solution-focused, orderly, and take great responsibility.
- Enjoy meeting many different people of all ages.
Employment conditions
Temporary position for summer 2026, starting date as agreed.
