Church Musician 40% Wanted

We are looking for someone who wants to work with music in a vibrant rural environment where community, tradition, and development go hand in hand. The position involves a 40% temporary appointment focusing on worship services, church ceremonies, and children's choir.

The position is located in the Hållnäs-Österlövsta congregation, which has good conditions for music activities with well-maintained organs and pianos. In Hållnäs Church, there is a smaller, newly renovated Åkerman organ that turns 160 years old this year, and in Österlövsta Church, there is an organ with parts from Setterqvist, Marcussen, and Cahman.

In the congregation, there is an established children's choir activity and good collaborations with the local school. The children's choir participates in worship services and also takes part in concerts, for example, in Lövstabruk Church.

The musician colleagues in the pastorate consist of four additional colleagues: a church musician based in Tierp, a church musician based in Västland, an organist in Hållnäs-Österlövsta, and a part-time cantor. Collaboration is an important part of our work. In the Tierp pastorate, there is a broad and active music program with four adult choirs and three children's choirs.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with people of all ages. You have a heart for worship services and the church's music life and want to help develop the activities. You have good collaboration skills and are solution-oriented. We place great importance on personal qualities.

About the Tierp Pastorate

The Tierp pastorate comprises three congregations, located in an environment with a rich variety of landscapes: Hållnäs-Österlövsta, Västland, and Tolfta. The pastorate has seven beautiful churches with different profiles from the Middle Ages onward. The pastorate also has a vibrant cultural and concert life, where Lövstabruk is a central location, and with its historical industrial environment and traditions, it creates a unique place for concerts and events. In Lövstabruk Church, there is an internationally recognized music program around the world-famous Cahman organ.

There are good commuting possibilities here. It takes about 35 minutes by train from Uppsala and 30 minutes from Gävle. At Nathanelgården, there are also three service cars that employees have access to for getting around in the pastorate.
