Senior Mechanical Designer / Thermal Systems Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced engineer who will lead and execute technically complex assignments with significant impact on the business. The role requires broad and/or deep expertise, acquired through extensive experience beyond formal qualifications.
About Us
The Climate System Section is responsible for climate system development within the Volvo Car Group and is part of Vehicle Engineering within R&D (Product & Quality).
The AC Hardware team consists of approximately 25 employees with great diversity in background and experience. We work in an open and inclusive environment with strong team spirit.

Your Responsibilities
As part of the AC Hardware team, you will:
- Work with the development of thermal systems throughout the entire product development process
- Collaborate closely with teams, suppliers, test departments, and other internal functions
- Plan, implement, and optimize technical solutions
- Ensure that suppliers meet requirements and quality standards
- Verify and analyze product functionality and performance
- Be responsible for product development regarding quality, cost, and timeline
- Monitor project status and ensure delivery according to plan
You will also contribute specialist knowledge in:
- Pipes and hoses
- Heat exchangers
- Component-related software and electrical hardware
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Civil or university engineer in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 10 years of experience in thermal systems
- Solid knowledge in:
- Refrigerant systems
- Heat exchangers
- Pipes and hoses
- Experience working with suppliers
- Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
- Driver's license B
Merits:
