School Counselor, part-time and permanent

Job duties and responsibilities

• Contribute to efforts in social and psychosocial work at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
• Be responsible for psychosocial work in the school's student health team
• Work preventively, promotively, and remedially on value-based issues
• Lead work on mapping and monitoring student absences.
• Document interventions.
• Support students individually and in groups.
• Participate in the school's student health meeting (EHM)
• Collaborate with guardians, school staff, and external actors.

Qualifications/requirements

• Degree in Social Work
• Experience working with children and youth
• Good collaboration and communication skills
• Works on a scientific basis and with proven experience
• Competence regarding the social and psychosocial school environment and be well-versed in relevant legislation
• Has knowledge of honor-related issues and is well-grounded in the fundamental democratic values that Swedish society is based on
• Has the ability to build good relationships, lead groups, and contribute to a safe and inclusive classroom climate

Meritorious

• Experience from school counseling activities in upper secondary school.
• Trained health and medical care counselor

About us

Victum Gymnasium is located in central Helsingborg, next to Helsingborg C. The school is in a beautiful building with pleasant facilities and a view of Öresund. Here, 210 students and about 20 employees meet daily. At the school, we have the Care and Nursing Program, the Child and Recreation Program, and the Introductory Program. Victum is an independent upper secondary school operated by Victum AB, a family-owned education company that has been running upper secondary school activities in Helsingborg since 2002.

Practical information about the position

Start date August 10, 2026.

Permanent with a 6-month probationary period.

Working hours are scheduled during school weeks, i.e., 39 weeks.

40% employment. This corresponds to 19 hours of working time during the 39 weeks when work is performed.
