Parental Leave Substitute: High School Teacher in Swedish, Religion, and Social Studies

Are you a certified high school teacher in Swedish and able to teach religion and social studies? We have staff going on parental leave and are therefore looking for a substitute for the school year 2026/27. We offer a position where you can utilize many of your teaching abilities, such as building good relationships, clear leadership, and effective and engaging instruction. Student-centered mentorship is a fundamental part of the assignment.

If you have special education competence or experience working with students with diverse needs, it is meritorious. It is positive if you have experience conducting national tests in Swedish. There is an opportunity for an additional role as coordinator for Erasmus+ for those with relevant experience.

Basic requirements for the position are that you:

• Have a teaching degree in Swedish and are ready to teach religion and social studies.
• Conduct instruction based on scientific principles.
• Are skilled at building good relationships and motivating students.
• Have knowledge of how students with significant support needs can develop in the subject.
• Value collaboration with other colleagues, have a positive and solution-focused approach that contributes to developing both competence and well-being in the team.
• Have the ability to exercise safe and pedagogical mentorship conducted in teams with colleagues.

About Us

Victum High School is located in central Helsingborg, next to Helsingborg Central Station. The school is in a beautiful building with pleasant facilities and a view of the Öresund Strait. Here, just over 215 students and about 20 employees meet daily. At the school, we have the Health and Social Care Program, the Child and Recreation Program, and the Introduction Program. Victum is an independent high school operated by Victum AB, a family-owned education company that has been running high school operations in Helsingborg since 2002.
