International School of the Gothenburg Region (ISGR) is seeking a German teacher for grades 6-9 Application deadline: 2026-05-08

ISGR (The International School of the Gothenburg Region) is an independent school in central Gothenburg with two sections; the national section following the Swedish curriculum and the international section following the IB program (International Baccalaureate). ISGR is owned by the Gothenburg Region Association of Municipalities whose members are Mölndal, Partille, Lerum, Kungsbacka, Kungälv, Öckerö, Stenungsund, Tjörn, Alingsås, Härryda, Ale, Lilla Edet, and Gothenburg Municipality.

The school has students from over 60 different nationalities. Students are taught by an experienced and qualified staff, who inspire students to lifelong learning which includes diversity and the ability to explore the world.

We are now seeking a German teacher - The position is a temporary position with a scope of 50% starting August 10, 2026 and ending June 18, 2027.

About the position

As a German teacher with us, you work closely with students and colleagues to create good conditions for learning and development in German. You plan, implement, and follow up on teaching with a focus on developing students' communicative ability in speaking, writing, and comprehension.

Work tasks

● Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching in German.

● Adapt teaching based on students' needs, both individually and in groups.

● Stimulate students' interest in language and culture.

● Collaborate with colleagues to develop teaching and student learning.

● Contribute to documentation, assessment, and development work at the school.

● Actively participate in the school's collegial learning.

Qualifications

● Eligibility to teach German, preferably in grades 6–9.

● Good ability to create safe, structured, and inspiring learning environments.

● A professional approach in interactions with students, colleagues, and guardians.

● Very good communicative ability and collaboration skills.

● Experience in language development work methods and a strong desire to help students reach their full potential.
