Leisure-time pedagogue
Description
We are looking for a trained leisure-time pedagogue who wants to combine creative pedagogy and care for each child.
Are you a person who sees recess as the most important arena for social learning during the day? Do you believe in the power of children's own imagination and want to help shape meaningful leisure time? Then it might be you we are looking for!
About the role:
As a leisure-time pedagogue with us, you have one foot in the school and one in the after-school center. Your workday is varied and dynamic:
- Recess activities: You plan and lead activities that invite movement, inclusion, and safety during the school day.
- The after-school center: You run the pedagogical activities in the morning and afternoon with a focus on stimulating children's imagination and own creativity.
- Support in learning: During the school day, you have the opportunity to support the children who need you most by having a foot in the classrooms and collaborating with the teachers.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are confident in your professional role, can analyze behaviors, and act as a leader for the children. You do not wait for instructions, but see yourself where you can make a difference.
We are looking for you who:
- Have formal competence for the assignment with a focus on after-school centers.
- Are independent and have a good ability to organize your own work.
- Have a playful attitude and understand that play is the foundation for children's development and learning.
- Share our Christian values and feel comfortable contributing to the school's confessional character.
Why choose Solängskolan?
Unique conditions: A small school provides space for pedagogical creativity. Here, a large and naturally beautiful schoolyard is well protected from other disturbing elements. The school consists of one class in each grade from pre-school to grade 9, totaling about 185 students.
Proximity and support: We are a school where the "we-feeling" is strong. Here, you always have close access to both colleagues and school leadership for support and sounding boards in daily work.
Forward momentum: Solängskolan has built a good reputation in the community, which is shown by our school waiting lists growing even as we have gradually expanded operations. Until recently, we had combined classes (b-form), but starting in the fall of 2026, all classes will be in age-divided classes (a-form). In the fall of 2027, we will inaugurate new premises that are currently being built.
Work environment: Here, teachers and school leadership choose to stay in their positions for a long time. We enjoy ourselves, help each other, and experience deep meaning in the mission. Since Solängskolan is run by a non-profit school association, all student funding stays in the operations and is used only for what serves student success. All decisions are made locally in close dialogue with colleagues.
Time for values: Based on the space allowed by the Education Act, each morning begins with a short Christian morning gathering. This is an appreciated element among both students and staff that gives each day a good start and opportunity to meet before it is time for teaching.
Candidates' suitability
Employment is ongoing, and we place great importance on personal suitability.
For your application to be processed, you must meet the formal requirements and explicitly describe how you can contribute to our school, which has confessional (Christian) elements in the education.
