Assistant Principal High School

Distra Gymnasium is a smaller high school in Örnsberg. Distra is an independent school owned and operated by Distra Utbildningscenter AB. We do not belong to any corporation and are secure in that - here we have the space to build our dream school!

Our focus is on well-being and security where everyone should feel seen and able to have their say. We have small teaching groups with approximately 15-24 students per group. This gives us greater opportunities to help each student achieve their goals.

We are now seeking a new assistant principal for the school year 2026 and onwards.

The management team consists of the principal, the head of school, and the APL coordinator. The school also has four lead teachers who assist in school development processes.

You applying for this position should be a trained principal and have experience at the principal or assistant principal level. You should be passionate about special education thinking, an inclusive school, and seeing opportunities - not problems.

Here you will have the freedom and opportunity to be an operational assistant principal working closely with teachers, EHT, and leading the pedagogical work.

• Leading and following up pedagogical work within assigned programs
• Participating in and driving systematic quality work (follow-up, analysis, measures)
• Following up on teaching quality and goal achievement
• Being responsible for the implementation and follow-up of national tests (organization of these)
• Initiating and leading pedagogical development in collaboration with the principal
• Conducting employee interviews
• Leading and structuring the systematic work environment work (SAM)
• Rehabilitation matters in collaboration with the principal
• Planning and follow-up of service distribution and schedules (in consultation with the principal)
