Personal Assistant for a Girl in Malmö

Do you want to work for a down-to-earth and cozy family in Malmö? Here lives a sweet 7-year-old girl who needs skilled assistants, are you the one we are looking for?

It would be good if you can start gradually now with 10 hours per week and then work more during the summer. If everything goes well, there are good opportunities for a permanent position with more hours in the fall when the girl starts school.

The girl lives with her parents and two younger siblings in a house in Malmö. She is a kind, curious, and playful little girl who needs supervision around the clock. Her epilepsy means she needs a present and attentive assistant by her side who can quickly act on changes while providing calm and security in everyday life.

About the Girl

She has an intellectual disability and severe epilepsy. She loves to bathe, enjoys music, books, cozy moments, and exploring her surroundings. She thrives with people who are gentle, patient, and attentive. Since the girl lacks speech and is still developing her communication abilities, with support signs among other things, it is important that you are adept at interpreting signals, reading situations, and providing support in both play, routines, and rest.

Job Duties

As an assistant, you will among other things:

· Provide constant supervision with a focus on safety and noticing signs of epileptic seizures

· Support during play, activities, and daily routines

· Assist with care and personal hygiene

· Create calm and structure in collaboration with the family

· You will become an important and secure person for both the girl and the family

We are looking for you who are:

· Calm, empathetic, and secure

· Attentive and quick to act

· Playful, flexible, and happy with children

· Thorough, gentle in your approach, and good at collaborating with the family and the child's siblings

· Responsible and confident in following routines

Previous experience with children, intellectual disabilities, epilepsy, or assistance is meritorious. You speak fluent Swedish and can provide an extract from the police register.

The family eats a vegan diet and would view it positively if you also share this dietary and lifestyle philosophy, but it is not a requirement.
