AVESTAHÄLSAN HEALTH CENTER

Avestahälsan Health Center has been in operation since 2012 and currently has approximately 8,000 registered patients. Our team consists of around 35 employees including general practitioners, resident physicians, internship physicians, pre-registration physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, midwives, child health center nurses, district nurses, nurses with various specialties, counseling nurses, medical secretaries, psychotherapists, assistant nurses, and cleaning staff.

We are a privately owned health center with a care choice agreement with Region Dalarna, so for individual patients, the same conditions, care guarantees, fees, etc., apply as at a publicly run health center. Avestahälsan Health Center operates only in Avesta but has many registered patients also from surrounding municipalities in southern Dalarna and northern Västmanland.

Our premises were expanded and renovated in 2021 and are well-suited for the operations. We share the building with Avestahälsan Occupational Health Services.

SPECIALIST PHYSICIAN IN GENERAL MEDICINE

At Avestahälsan Health Center, we have a fantastic team of doctors! Five specialist physicians in general medicine (one on parental leave) with varying employment rates, 4 resident physicians, 2-3 internship physicians, and 0-1 pre-registration physicians. Together, we care for nearly 8,000 registered patients, including about 800 from outside the region. The specialist physicians and resident physicians have their own patient lists but also contribute with acute and subacute appointments for all registered patients. Internship and pre-registration physicians do not have their own patient lists. We have a cap of a maximum of 1,600 patients per full-time position, but currently, the specialist physicians have about 1,400 - 1,500 registered patients per full-time, which has gradually decreased over time. We actively work so that the care choice model in the region makes it possible to reach as low as 1,100 patients per full-time.

At Avestahälsan Health Center, we continuously work to try to improve and develop the operations. We work in a team-based manner and strive for high continuity. Professional development is planned based on your own and the operations' needs. We have allocated training time and a training policy also for the specialist physicians. There is a good opportunity to have your own area of responsibility based on the operations' needs and your specific experience and competence.

We wish to expand our team of doctors with an additional specialist physician at 75-100% to better prepare for the present and future.
