HSE Engineer

About the role

As an HSE Engineer, you will have a central role in developing, implementing, and monitoring safety policies and procedures. You will work to minimize risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and create a safety culture where employee health and safety are always the focus.

Your main tasks:

• Develop and implement safety policies: Ensure that our procedures comply with current laws and industry standards.
• Risk assessment and inspections: Conduct regular risk assessments and inspections to identify and manage potential hazards.
• Training and awareness: Plan and conduct health and safety training for employees.
• Incident reporting and investigations: Be responsible for reporting, investigating, and analyzing accidents and incidents to prevent future events.
• Safety equipment: Check and monitor that protective equipment and emergency systems are in good condition and used correctly.
• Legal and regulatory compliance: Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure that operations are always compliant.
• Crisis management and preparedness: Develop and implement emergency plans and lead efforts during crises.

Qualifications:

• Relevant education in work environment, safety, or risk management.
• Experience working in a similar role, preferably in construction.
• Experience developing and implementing health and safety policies.
• Good knowledge of work environment legislation and safety standards.
• Experience with risk assessments, safety investigations, and reporting tools.

Personal qualities:

• Are thorough and have a strong attention to detail.
• Have good communication skills and can train and engage staff at all levels.
• Are self-motivated and have strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a changing environment.
