We are looking for stable workers for Tolarp in Halmstad

We are looking for stable caretakers for our breeding stables in Tolarp Halmstad.

As a stable caretaker, you will be an important part of the process that leads to eggs being available for purchase in Sweden's grocery stores. Sweden is essentially self-sufficient in eggs.

As a stable caretaker, you will care for the animals, maintain the stable, and ensure everything functions optimally. The work requires that you can work independently and have a good eye for animals, which means being observant of the animals' health, the climate in the stable, and ensuring the animals have the best conditions every day. The animals always come first. It is also a great advantage if you are practically inclined, as minor repairs may be needed. You will work in a flexible group, meaning we help each other in our different stables. You work a lot independently in the stables, and there is support regarding animal knowledge and technology.

You must have at least a B driver's license and access to a car. At least high school education and preferably with a focus on animals. Previous experience working with animals is advantageous. We work irregular hours and every third weekend. Since some documentation and especially communication occur, you need to master Swedish well in both speech and writing.

You cannot have poultry and reptiles due to infection risk.

Job duties:

• Check on the animals regularly each day, ensure they have feed and water, monitor the animals' well-being, and assess air quality, etc.
• Keep the stable and common areas clean and tidy.
• Prepare for the introduction of new animals and the removal of animals.
• Record production data daily and fill out checklists (they are in Swedish).
• Contact technicians in case of faults and deficiencies.
• Address minor faults and deficiencies.
• Work in other stables as needed - we schedule so you know where to be.
• Keep the area around the stables clean.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of animals.
• Be responsible for taking action if something seems wrong with the animals.
• In breeding stables - transport out and sort/pack eggs daily.
• Report feed consumption.

Your profile:

• High school education, preferably with a focus on animals.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English.
• B driver's license and access to a car.
• Advantageous to have a license for heavy machinery.
• Genuine interest in animals.
• Accurate and methodical.
• Flexible and willing to help when colleagues need assistance.
• Stable and reliable.
• Have technical/mechanical understanding.

• The work is scheduled - weekend work is included.
• Collective agreement exists.
• Shower and kitchen equipment are available in the stable.

We apply a 6-month probationary period.
