Chemical Specialist in EHS – consulting assignment

• Assignment length: 6 months with possibility of extension
• Location: Uppsala (possibility for some remote work)

Do you want to work in a role where you get to combine your expertise in chemical management with regulatory issues and system implementation? We are now looking for a Chemical Specialist in EHS for a consulting assignment with one of our clients in industrial operations in Uppsala.

Here you will have a central role in the work with chemical management, regulatory follow-up, and implementation of a new chemical management system.

About the assignment

You will belong to the client's EHS department, where a group works specifically with issues related to external environment and chemicals. The role involves close collaboration with several functions within the organization, such as raw material procurement and material planning, in matters concerning chemical management and compliance with legal requirements.

A key part of the assignment is to coordinate the implementation of a new chemical management system and ensure that the operations follow current regulatory requirements.

Work tasks

In the role, you will among other things:

• Lead and coordinate the implementation of the chemical management system Chemical Manager
• Transfer the entire chemical register from KLARA to Chemical Manager
• Monitor and report regulatory changes in chemical legislation, especially REACH and CLP
• Collaborate with various functions within the organization in matters related to chemicals
• Conduct and lead internal training in chemical management and legislation
• Review regulatory aspects when introducing new chemicals into the operations
• Administer and develop the site's chemical management system
• Handle authority matters and compile documentation related to the chemical area

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• Academic degree in environmental science, chemistry, or related field
• Several years of experience working with chemical management and chemical legislation
• Good knowledge of REACH and CLP
• Experience from chemical industry or process industry

About the position

Market-based salary in line with collective agreement.

Temporary employment for 6 months with possibility of extension.
