Senior Test Automation Engineer

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer for a team that develops a trading platform for investment funds. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for test automation – from designing and developing scalable frameworks to integration in CI/CD flows. You will work closely with development, DevOps, and product management and actively contribute to raising the quality in each delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, maintainable, and reusable frameworks for test automation applicable across multiple projects
• Automate test processes by creating robust test scripts for functional testing, regression testing, and integration testing with a focus on high coverage and reliability
• Plan and conduct manual testing where automation is not suitable
• Integrate testing into CI/CD flows in close collaboration with development and DevOps
• Manage test data, analyze test results, and ensure clear and structured error reporting
• Contribute to the development and improvement of CI/CD pipelines for test automation
• Drive continuous improvements by streamlining workflows and automating repetitive tasks

Requirements

• Holistic view of quality with an understanding of when manual testing adds value alongside automation
• Very good knowledge of Java 21+ for writing automation scripts and frameworks
• Experience with Spring Boot and Hibernate for integration and backend testing
• Expertise in tools such as Selenium, Playwright, JUnit/TestNG, Cucumber, or equivalent for UI and API automation
• Experience with REST Assured or equivalent tool for API testing
• Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases for validating data integrity in automated tests
• Understanding of Kafka, JMS, and MQ for testing asynchronous and event-driven systems
• Knowledge of OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for generating and validating automated API tests
• Practical experience with Git and Jenkins or equivalent tools for integrating tests into pipelines
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns for building maintainable automation frameworks
• Solid experience in manual testing of complex backend-heavy systems and distributed architectures
• Ability to design clear and structured manual test cases and exploratory test plans
• Good knowledge of English
