Pipe Designer (HVAC)
Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced consultant to take on the role of designer for the client's MIMI 4 system. This includes both HVAC systems (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and auxiliary systems.
The consultant is expected to work both independently and in cross-functional teams, and be able to lead smaller groups of designers (3–10 people).
System Areas
HVAC systems are used to maintain a comfortable and safe indoor climate by regulating temperature, humidity, and air quality. In a maritime environment, these systems are critical for both crew comfort and the safety of onboard equipment.
Main Components:
- Heating: Systems for generating and distributing heat (e.g., heat pumps, electric heaters, steam heating systems)
- Ventilation: Systems for air circulation and purification (e.g., fans, filters, air ducts)
- Cooling (Air Conditioning): Systems for cooling air (e.g., compressors, condensers, evaporators)
HVAC systems must be reliable and efficient, and adapted for the maritime environment (limited space, corrosion, demanding climate)
Auxiliary System
Auxiliary systems support the ship's primary functions and are crucial for efficient and safe operation.
Examples of systems:
- Cooling systems: Seawater cooling systems and air cooling systems for machinery and equipment
- Firefighting systems: Systems for fire detection and suppression (e.g., sprinklers)
- Water management systems: Management of drinking water, wastewater, and ballast water
Core Tasks (area and responsibility)
