About the role
You will perform, lead, and be responsible for specialized tasks in data engineering of medium to high technical complexity, with impact on the team and department.
The work requires both theoretical understanding of data and system architecture as well as practical experience in the field.
You will be a key person in the development of the next generation of connected premium cars, where data is used to improve software development and CI/CD processes.
About the business
At Volvo Cars, infotainment and connected systems are one of the fastest-growing technology areas.
The team works within the infotainment software factory and is responsible for making CI/CD data and development processes more transparent and usable through visualization, analysis, and data models.
Responsibilities
You will, among other things:
- Develop and maintain the data product ConX
- Build scalable data pipelines for data collection, transformation, and storage
- Implement data models and metric definitions
- Work with event-driven and batch-based data processes
- Ensure data quality, traceability, and observability
- Work with data governance, security, and access controls
- Create self-service solutions for data analysis
- Collaborate with CI/CD, platform, and development teams
- Troubleshoot and optimize data flows and pipelines
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in computer science, systems science, data science, or similar
- 3–7 years of experience in data engineering or software development in data-driven systems
- Experience building data pipelines with Python, SQL, or similar languages
- Experience with modern data platforms and data modeling
- Experience with CI/CD and development tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Grafana, or ELK
- Understanding of distributed systems and streaming/event-driven architecture
- Good collaboration skills and communication in technical teams
Merits
- Experience from the automotive industry or Volvo Cars
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulations
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with container-based environments
