Dormsjö School is seeking treatment educators for hourly and holiday substitute positions

Activity Description:

Dormsjö School is a home for care and accommodation (HVB) for boys aged 7-23.

We are located in southern Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and have our own independent school. Here, children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, near a lovely swimming lake and exciting forests. There are opportunities for fun activities and quiet moments, and adults to lean on.

Target Group:

Boys with neuropsychiatric disabilities and social and emotional issues.

We have a license for 28 boys, covering placements with support from the Social Services Act, the Care of Young Persons Act, and the Act Concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments.

Description of Work Tasks:

The foundation of our approach is to create predictability and routines in a structured environment, by giving the day, week, and year a clear recurring structure.

We assess the children's/young people's abilities and difficulties. The assessment and care plan form the basis for an implementation plan based on the child's/young person's needs.

The work primarily involves treatment and motivation efforts for the child/young person. Personal care is also a common task.

The aim is to help the children/young people achieve an independent life with functioning schooling.

The treatment work is individualized based on each child's/young person's needs and conditions.

Social skills training, anger management, low-affect approach, series conversations, social stories, and visual support are some of the methods we use.

We are looking for you who are creative and enjoy physical activity, are passionate about working with children and young people with special needs, and are good at building trusting and positive relationships.

The work requires you to be secure, solution-focused, stress-resistant, and have great patience.

Education: Social treatment educator or other education deemed equivalent is desirable.

In the event of employment, an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register is required.
