Dormsjöskolan seeks treatment educator for permanent position

Activity description:

Dormsjöskolan is a home for care and residence (HVB) for boys aged 7-23.

We are located in Southern Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and have our own independent school. Here, children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, near a fine swimming lake and exciting forests. There are opportunities for fun activities and quiet moments, and adults to lean on.

Target group:

Boys with neuropsychiatric disabilities as well as social and emotional issues.

We have a license for 28 children/young people, and the license covers placements with support from SoL, LVU, and LSS.

Description of work tasks:

The foundation of our working method is to create predictability and routines in a structured environment, this by giving the day, week, and year a clear recurring structure.

We map the abilities and difficulties of the child/young person. The mapping and care plan form the basis for an implementation plan based on the child/young person's needs.

The work primarily involves treatment and motivation work for the child/young person. Personal care is also occurring work tasks.

The aim is to help the children/young people towards an independent life with functioning schooling.

The treatment work is individually adapted based on each child/young person's needs and conditions.

Social skills training, anger control, low-affect approach, series conversations, social stories, and visual image support are some of the methods we use.

We are looking for you who are creative and enjoy physical activity, passionate about working with children and young people with special needs, and good at creating trusting and good relationships.

The work requires that you are secure, solution-focused, stress-tolerant, and have great patience.

Education: Social/treatment educator or other education considered equivalent is desirable.

In the event of possible employment, an extract from the criminal and suspicion register is required.
