Our Congregation

Danmark-Funbo congregation is located in southern Uppsala. The area encompasses both countryside and suburbs and has a growing population. The congregation includes three churches: Sävja church, Danmarks church, and Funbo church. The congregation is rainbow-certified and consciously works with diversity issues and inclusion. We are now seeking a recreation leader who will be part of the children's and youth work team. The position involves work with children, teenagers, and confirmation candidates.

Our Children's and Youth Activities

In Danmark-Funbo congregation, children's groups, choirs, confirmation candidates, and young leaders meet weekly in our premises for conversation, play, creativity, and devotion. Additionally, our children's and youth activities include open activities such as baby café and open preschool for the youngest children and their parents. We have good relations with Uppsala municipality and the congregation's schools and wish to further develop that collaboration.

Your Responsibilities

As a recreation leader, you are an important part of the work with children and youth in our three churches, community centers, and in the congregation's local area. You have a genuine interest in children and young people. Enjoy a role where you get to be both a leader and a relationship builder. Are creative, flexible, and responsible. You have the ability to create and run activities both independently and together with other staff, preferably also outdoors.

We are seeking you who are well-grounded in the faith, life, and teachings of the Church of Sweden. You feel confident in conveying your faith and the Church of Sweden's tradition in our activities.

You have recreation leader education, or alternatively another pedagogical education for work with children and youth that the employer deems equivalent.

About the Employment

Permanent employment 75-100% with varying working hours. Evening duties, weekend duties, and camps are included. Starting date August 17, 2026 or by agreement. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
