Personal Assistant Wanted for 12-Year-Old Boy in Linköping

We are now seeking a personal assistant for a position covering approximately 80%. Start date in August.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who retains a childlike spirit and enjoys staying active and coming up with activities. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability, chemistry, and collaboration skills. You are a lovely and child-friendly person who is also comfortable working independently. You need patience to wait for the user. Since the user does not have verbal speech, it is also important that you are attentive and observant of his needs and general well-being by interpreting his body language and sounds. Often, however, the user is clear about what he wants.

Your workplace is wherever the client is, with his home in Linköping as the starting point. You will also accompany him on leisure activities and outings.

Requirements:

- Good physical condition

- Non-smoker

- Able to swim

- Good knowledge of the Swedish language

Meritorious:

- Previous experience in care or working with children.

I am a 12-year-old boy and I live with my mom, dad, and two younger brothers. During the days, I attend school, but in the afternoons, evenings, and weekends, I need assistance. As an assistant, I want you to enjoy moving around, being outdoors, and also playing and having fun. I like when things happen, so it's good if you are inventive and come up with activities from time to time. I also want you to be positive and able to help me learn things. With me, it's usually full speed, and I love jumping on the trampoline, swimming, listening to music, swinging, playing with my little brothers, and walking shorter distances in the forest and nearby areas. I also love riding a cargo bike when the weather permits. On weekdays, I have some leisure activities: on Mondays, I attend music therapy, and on Wednesdays, I go to Händelseriket. You accompany me to both activities. I also enjoy going to the swimming pool.

I have a cognitive impairment, which for me means I do not speak with words and need help performing all activities in daily life, as well as interaction and communication. I make myself understood through body language and sounds, but I understand spoken language in simple commands and phrases. I can walk but sometimes need support to get around, and for longer distances, I use a wheelchair or all-terrain stroller. Sometimes I can be extra mischievous and active, and then I run, so you must be quite fast to keep up and ensure I do not put myself in danger. I also need a lot of active help with eating, using the toilet, getting dressed, and playing!

Working Hours and Employment Rate:

Working hours vary but are typically weekdays around 1:30 PM to 7:30 PM and weekends around 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Start date: around August 24.

Salary: Fixed hourly wage as agreed. Other compensations according to collective agreement.
