Personal Assistant for a 14-year-old boy in Tyresö

We offer personal assistance across the country and provide you with service from experienced and competent staff who have worked in the industry for a long time.

We are now seeking personal assistants who can help a cheerful 14-year-old boy who loves play, mischief, and long walks. He thrives best with outdoor activities. He has a lot of energy and has great difficulty sitting still.

This boy can no longer communicate verbally and needs help with everything in his daily life and care.

However, he functions well physically. As an assistant, you do not need to assist with transfers (i.e., heavy lifting does not occur), and he is usually cooperative with most things. Our client has a condition that causes symptoms such as severe intellectual disability, severe ADHD, and autism-like traits. The condition also causes very significant sleep disturbances. He also has severe epilepsy. During the day, you help him with food, hygiene, dressing and undressing, etc., take him on walks, bus trips, and to playgrounds. You supervise him when he watches his iPad and play with him (for example, playing ball, building with Duplo, reading books, singing, etc.).

In the evening from bedtime, you supervise him when he watches his iPad in bed and tries to sleep, help him to the toilet, etc., as needed. At night, you supervise him while he sleeps and assist him upon waking.

The position primarily involves a few nights per month and weekend shifts. You also need to be open to working extra during absences of regular staff. Double staffing on holidays.

-The workplace is in central Tyresö, near buses with frequent service to Gullmarsplan.

To apply for this position, you need to understand that the following are important

-No animal allergies as cats, dogs, and rabbits are present.

-Ability to understand and speak Swedish fluently.

-Not be afraid of occasional outbursts of behavior; he is large and strong for his age.

-Calm and stable with high risk awareness.

-Be empathetic, able to learn to read small signs.

-Positive, alert, and responsible. Must always be one step ahead.

-Preferably have a twinkle in your eye; he has a lot of humor and likes mischief.

-Medical knowledge is not necessary. But it is an advantage if you are familiar with some of the issues described above.

-Previous experience as a personal assistant is not required.
