About the assignment

We are now seeking committed and responsible personal assistants for a younger child with extensive disabilities. The child has diagnoses within the neurodevelopmental spectrum and lacks independence in all daily activities. The need for assistance is around the clock, with active supervision during all waking hours and dual assistance for multiple activities.

The work takes place at home and during activities in the community.

Your main duties

As a personal assistant, you will be a crucial support for the child's safety, development and participation in daily life. The work includes among other things:

• Support with personal hygiene, toilet visits, showering and care
• Dressing and undressing, including support with clothing selection
• Feeding and supervision during meals – ensuring nutritional intake and preventing choking risk
• Communication and interpretation of the child's signals (non-verbal)
• Prevention of risk behaviors and outbursts, including distraction and calming interventions
• Accompaniment during activities, outdoor stays and outings
• Self-care (e.g., medication, applying ointment)
• Safe presence, structure and continuity in daily life

Who are you?

We are seeking you who are secure, patient and have the ability to act professionally even in demanding situations. You need to be attentive, clear and have a good sense of the child's needs – both regarding communication, structure and safety.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing
• Physical and mental endurance – the work can be both physically and emotionally demanding
• Flexibility and sense of responsibility
• Good cooperation ability and respect for the child's integrity and the family's wishes

Meritorious:

• Experience working with children with autism, intellectual disabilities or ADHD
• Experience with personal assistance, special education, habilitation or other care-related roles
• Child and leisure program, care and nursing education or other relevant background
• Driver's license B
