Residential Educator Hourly/Summer Temporary Position

About the job:

Voppa Care is seeking a summer temporary employee for full-time hours at one of our apartment-based residences located in Gothenburg.

The work hours are primarily scheduled on weekdays during daytime in weeks 28-32, with good opportunities for additional hours both before and after that period.

At our residence, women and men aged 21 and above live in their own apartments. The residence is drug-free, and we support people in social vulnerability with the goal of living as independently as possible.

Work tasks:

The tasks included are supporting the individuals living at the residence, based on individual implementation plans, and being available for supportive conversations. The position also involves administrative tasks such as documentation and contacts with relevant authorities, police, etc.

The role will also include some practical tasks like assistance with shopping and accompanying to healthcare and authority visits.

The work is performed independently, so you should be comfortable taking responsibility. You will be based in an office within a collective residence where colleagues are available for support and feedback.

Qualifications:

• Relevant education: To be considered for the position, a completed or ongoing post-secondary education as a social worker, behavioral scientist, social educator, or equivalent is required. We work from multiple approaches and methods such as TMO, LAB, CBT, and MI, with MI being a requirement for the position.

• Experience: We are looking for someone with previous experience working with people in crisis and in need of support due to violence exposure, substance abuse issues, and/or mental health challenges.

• Documentation: The position requires experience with documentation and the ability to express yourself well verbally and in writing, as the work is partly administrative.

• Driver's license: You need to be comfortable driving a car as it is part of the daily work.

Furthermore, you are pedagogical, empathetic, and creative in your work approach. You also need to be comfortable stepping into acute situations.

Final candidates will need to provide extracts from the Criminal Records Registry.
