Lower elementary school teacher
Description
We are seeking two class teachers for our lower elementary school. Due to current space limitations, one class consists of 10 students and another of 18 students. This gives you a fantastic opportunity to build strong relationships and give each child the time and attention they need. You will become part of a cohesive team of five teachers in the lower elementary school.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are a certified teacher for grades F–3. As a person, you are confident in your professional role, accustomed to working with students' diverse needs, and enjoy collaborating closely with your colleagues. Since Solängskolan is based on a Christian foundation, we see that you share our values and actively want to contribute to shaping the school's profile in everyday life.
Why choose Solängskolan?
Unique conditions: Small classes provide a calm classroom climate and room for pedagogical creativity. Additionally, we have a large and naturally beautiful schoolyard that is well-protected from other disruptive elements. The school consists of one class in each grade from F-9, totaling approximately 185 students.
Proximity and support: We are a school where the "we-feeling" is strong. Here, you always have close access to both colleagues and school leadership for support and sounding boards in daily work.
Forward momentum: Solängskolan has built a good reputation in the community, which is evident as our waiting lists for the school grow despite gradually expanding operations. Until recently, we had combined classes (b-form), but starting in the fall of '26, all classes will be taught in age-divided classes (a-form). In the fall of '27, we will inaugurate new premises that are currently under construction.
Work environment: Here, teachers and school leadership choose to stay long in their positions. We thrive, help each other, and experience deep meaningfulness in the mission. Since Solängskolan is run by a non-profit school association, the entire student funding stays in the operations and is used only for what serves the students' success. All decisions are made locally in close dialogue with colleagues.
Time for values: Within the framework allowed by the School Act, each morning begins with a short Christian morning assembly. This is an appreciated feature among both students and staff, giving each day a good start and an opportunity to meet before it's time for teaching.
Candidates' suitability
Recruitment is ongoing, and we place great importance on personal suitability.
For your application to be processed, you must meet the formal requirements and explicitly describe how you can contribute to our school, which has confessional (Christian) elements in its education.
The position can be designed as a part-time role.
