Student Assistant

We are seeking a new colleague to join us for the academic year 26/27, the position is full-time and is a temporary substitute role.

We prefer that you are trained as a student assistant and have experience working in schools and after-school programs. You need to have good knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD). You should have the ability to maintain a low-arousal approach even in demanding situations. Being able to work preventively is also an important part of your role to reduce stress and conflicts.

As a student assistant with us, you work closely with the student, and in your assignment, you should follow and support the student throughout their entire day with us—in teaching, during breaks, all meals, and at the after-school program.

In your role as a student assistant, you should create security, structure, and predictability in the student's daily life, and you have close collaboration with guardians, teachers, after-school staff, kitchen staff, and student health services. Furthermore, you should always act consistently and securely based on the school's routines and core values.

The work requires presence, attentiveness, a high degree of patience, professional handling in all situations, and the ability to be flexible—all for the student's best interest.

Bastasjö Independent School is located in the beautiful natural area of Bastasjö and is a school for grades F-6, with two after-school program departments.
