As our current study and career counselor is now moving on to new challenges, it is time to recruit a replacement. We are looking for you who are trained as a study and career counselor. Experience working in adult education is advantageous, but not necessary. You are a good communicator in both speech and writing and have more than basic knowledge in IT and social media. We particularly consider personal suitability in recruitment. Competence through long and relevant experience can compensate for the requirement of the right formal education.

We are looking for a study counselor who is interested in working with adults. You are well-structured and easy to collaborate with, and since the school has a relatively large proportion of course participants with neuropsychiatric disabilities, such as ADHD, dyslexia, and dyscalculia, we prefer that you have experience working with this group. The socio-pedagogical work is a large and important part of the work for all employees at a folk high school. Experience working with newcomers and/or experience working with commissioned training in collaboration with the Public Employment Service is also advantageous.

The position consists of the usual study and career guidance tasks, as well as information about and marketing of folk high school studies, through active work at educational fairs and in networking activities primarily towards surrounding municipalities. Additionally, it includes responsibility for the school's overall marketing and communication, in collaboration with the staff in the various units and courses. Here, we are looking for someone with good competence in and interest for marketing, communication, and social media.

About the employer

Historic Munka Folk High School has been located for over 100 years in Munka Ljungby, 8 km east of Ängelholm in beautiful North-West Scania. Since the autumn of 2023, the course Nature Life, a distance course with in-person meetings primarily in the Södertälje area, is included.

The school's vision Adult Education for the Future - Meetings and Opportunities Together forms the background of our operations. Our thoughts and decisions are shaped by the desire to create good adult education and the belief in the value of the meeting between people.

We have approximately 300 long-course participants, of which about 150 attend the school in Munka Ljungby and the rest study one of our distance courses. In Munka Ljungby, we offer boarding with about 50 places for those who wish to live at the school during the academic year. The long-course activities include General Course, Health Coach Training, Art School, Academy 55+, Student and Teacher Assistant Training via distance, and Nature Life via distance. Munka Folk High School also offers shorter summer courses and evening courses within our profile, as well as commissioned training in collaboration with the Public Employment Service and surrounding municipalities.
