Teacher for Lower Elementary Grades

Ur och Skurskolan Skattkammarön is an outdoor school in Norrköping that started in 2006. We have a warm school atmosphere where our profile is outdoor education. The teaching is based on the unique pedagogy of Ur och Skur and the Swedish Outdoor Association. Proximity to nature and water provides great opportunities to conduct teaching outside the classroom. Nearby are also Stadium Arena, the ice rink, and the library, which we often take advantage of.

The school is located next to SMHI, in the middle of the growing Sandtorp district, with good connections to central Norrköping.

We have 145 students in grades F-9. Teaching groups consist of 12–18 students. We have an open and helpful staff where team spirit and collaboration are the focus.

We are looking for an engaged F-3 teacher who wants to become part of our team in the lower elementary grades, preferably with a passion for nature and outdoor education!

Your Responsibilities

As a teacher at Skattkammarön, you are responsible for planning your subjects as well as conducting and following up on teaching based on the student's needs. You also collaborate with other colleagues regarding the student's knowledge development. You actively participate in the school's and work team's various common tasks where you contribute with your ideas and experience.

Who Are You?

We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher for grades F-3 and have experience teaching in these grade levels. As a person, you are a natural leader who creates engagement and participation around you. It is of great importance that you easily establish contacts and maintain relationships with students and colleagues. Furthermore, we also see that you are driven and persistent in striving towards set goals despite challenges along the way.

You have documented and good competence in leadership. You have experience in leadership roles regardless of whether it is within the school or outside the school. It is meritorious if you have experience in outdoor education and providing special support in the form of extraordinary efforts
