Sophiaskolan is seeking a Teacher in after-school care/leisure-time pedagogue at 100% for work at our after-school care facility and as a resource pedagogue.

Sophiaskolan, Österlen's Waldorf School has 230 students in grades F-9. The school has been located for nearly 40 years among the apple trees in the small pleasant village of Rörum, not far from Knäbäckshusen beach in Simrishamn municipality. The school's goal is to create lifelong enthusiasm for learning through engagement, curiosity, and wonder. Joy and curiosity towards schoolwork are highly encouraged at our school. The theoretical, artistic, and practical work is integrated as much as possible in the teaching and nourishes the whole person.

Our after-school care facility is adjacent to the main school building in its own house, partly shared with the F-grade class. The schoolyard offers a fantastic outdoor environment with great opportunities for play, learning, and outdoor activities.

You will be responsible for a class during afternoons at the after-school care and work in the same class as a resource pedagogue during mornings. You have planning time, both individually and in the work team, to plan and evaluate the activities. We aim for a high staff density. At the after-school care, 12 pedagogues currently work in three groups plus a schoolyard pedagogue. Sophiaskolan's leadership is involved in the after-school care's work and sees the after-school care as an important part of Sophiaskolan's operations.

We are looking for you who have education in, or experience of, working compensatorily with students, have good relational skills and collaboration ability. Basic teacher in after-school care, leisure-time pedagogue education, or similar is prioritized. Previous work in Waldorf pedagogical activities or a strong interest in our pedagogy is meritorious. Start date week 32 (August 2026).
