Job Description

I Ur och Skur Utsikten is a well-functioning parent cooperative with a fantastic location for outdoor education, right on the edge of Slottsskogen in Gothenburg. The operation includes both preschool and leisure-time centre, enabling staff and parents to follow children's development from one year of age up into the early school years. The nearby nature – the forest, hills, clearings, and the small pond – forms a natural part of the children's daily life and is actively used in teaching. Our own cultivations are also part of the operation and are maintained jointly by children, staff, and parents from spring to autumn.

Utsikten is a small-scale operation with six employed childcare workers, preschool teachers, and leisure-time pedagogues, including the principal. The operation is run by an active and engaged parent group responsible for daily cooking, maintenance of premises and yard, and other practical operations. The association has stable finances and a high degree of continuity in the operation, as many families are members for several years. This contributes to a close and long-term relationship between children, guardians, and staff.

Our current principal is retiring, so we are seeking a successor who wants to take responsibility for and further develop the operation as principal for both preschool and leisure-time centre. We are looking for you who want to be an active part of the education and who thrive working in a small-scale organization with short decision paths and close collaboration between staff, board, and guardians.

The position involves a combination of work in child groups and principal responsibilities. Part of the working hours is allocated for administrative and management-related tasks. As pedagogical leader and manager of the staff, the principal has the overall responsibility for planning, implementing, and following up the education in both preschool and leisure-time centre in accordance with national goals. The principal is responsible for the operation's systematic quality work and for developing the education in line with the Education Act and curricula. The role also includes personnel responsibility and responsibility for the operation's work environment and organization.

As principal, you are also part of the association's board and contribute there to the overall development of the operation. Qualifications

We place great importance on personal qualities. You have good leadership and collaboration skills and can lead and develop work teams in an inclusive and clear manner. You are communicative, structured, and have good planning and foresight abilities. At the same time, you are attentive and see the work team as a shared resource where each employee's competence and strengths are utilized. You are open to dialogue and new ideas and actively contribute to developing the operation.

We are looking for you who have several years of experience working in preschool and/or leisure-time centre. Experience with personnel responsibility, recruitment, or other management tasks is meritorious. For the position, a preschool teacher degree or education as a leisure-time pedagogue is required. Principal education and previous experience working as a principal are also an advantage. You need to be able to express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing.

Experience with outdoor education and work within I Ur och Skur operations is meritorious.
