Restaurant Assistant

We are seeking a restaurant assistant who, together with our team, wants to offer our guests a memorable experience. As a restaurant assistant at Strömbäcks folk high school, you are an important part of our guests' experience with us. Here, you will meet the school's participants and staff in their daily lives, as well as conference guests and other visitors. With your friendly demeanor at the cash register and a helping hand in the restaurant, you contribute to making their day even better. As part of our engaged team, we collaborate to create a memorable and cozy atmosphere for all guests.

Work on evenings and weekends occurs in connection with events, conferences, and other bookings such as weddings and Christmas dinners. We prefer that you have experience from serving, events, or similar, but the most important thing for us is your personality.

Job Duties

Main job duties:

• Cashier
• Serving and refilling
• Simple preparations and food preparation (such as sandwiches, baking, appetizers, salad, etc.)
• Cleaning
• Service to guests and customer interaction

About Us

Strömbäcks folk high school is located about 20 kilometers south of Umeå in a historical setting and beautiful natural surroundings. The operation is run by a foundation whose main stakeholders are EFS in Västerbotten, Luleå Diocese, and the Church of Sweden. The folk high school offers eight regular courses as well as short courses and summer courses. About 140 people study here, with around 70 living in our boarding school. During the year, various camps are also arranged in the school's facilities. We have a well-attended conference business with several conference rooms, accommodation, and related services.

We run a restaurant that serves well-prepared home-cooked meals to the school's participants and staff, conference guests, and other visitors. This can include breakfast, lunch buffet, coffee breaks, and dinner. In addition to school and conference operations, we accept bookings for weddings, baptisms, memorials, and other celebrations. During the year, we have some larger events such as Christmas markets, Christmas dinners, and summer cafés, which we want to continue developing.

Qualifications

Experience in restaurants, serving, events, or similar is advantageous.

A driver's license is desirable.

Other Information

Scope: 80% with the possibility of increased scope.

Permanent, with a probationary period.

We are covered by a collective agreement.
