Are you an experienced chef ready to take the next step – or already working as a sous chef and seeking a new challenge this summer? Then Strömma Restaurant and Canal Bar could be the right place for you.
We are looking for a sous chef for the summer season with an ongoing start and possibility of extension. With us, you will have a central role in the kitchen where you, together with the head chef, are responsible for driving the daily work forward. You help set the tone in the kitchen – both in terms of quality, pace, and team spirit.
With an eye for detail and confidence in your professional role, you ensure that every plate leaving the kitchen maintains a high standard. You thrive in an environment where the pace can be high at times and where you get to combine operational work with responsibility for structure, planning, and team.
You work closely with both the kitchen and service teams and are a key person in creating a kitchen that runs smoothly – even when it's busiest.
Your responsibilities:
- Lead and distribute the daily work in the kitchen
- Work actively in service and prep together with the team
- Ensure quality, presentation, and taste of all dishes
- Be responsible for following hygiene and quality routines
- Support, motivate, and develop the kitchen team
- Contribute to planning, structure, and a well-functioning kitchen
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience from restaurant kitchens, preferably à la carte
- Previous experience in a leadership role is meritorious
- Good knowledge of food hygiene
- Confident in high tempo and accustomed to taking responsibility
- A natural leader with good collaboration skills
- Solution-oriented, proactive, and structured
