Wilderness Host with Fire Cooking - Seasonal Employment
Description
Wilderness Host with Fire Cooking - Seasonal Employment Svansele Wilderness & Restaurant Vildsint
Svansele Wilderness is located in the naturally beautiful Svansele between Norsjö, Boliden, and Jörn in the inland of Västerbotten. In addition to our guided nature experiences, we operate Sweden's largest wilderness exhibition with 650 taxidermied animals, and each season we welcome hundreds of guests, bus groups, families, conference participants, who want to experience nature and the wild in a completely unique way. Our facility is world-unique and divided into rooms with different themes based on nature and seasons.
Now we are looking for you who want to be a part of it.
What the job entails
The heart of the work is the fire burning in the exhibition's first room Autumn, where you cook food and serve coffee over Muurikka by open fire. You are the one who meets the guests, welcomes them, and sets the mood for their visit.
During the season, you are responsible for the cooking on our open house days, three days a week from mid-June to mid-August, when we serve a wild board with reindeer meat, elk meat, and salmon, prepared both outdoors and indoors. You also plan and prepare for bus groups, conferences, and dinners and handle smaller events independently. A head chef is responsible for the recipes and orders: your task is to stand by the fire, serve with feeling, and take care of the guests.
In between, it's practical tasks: mowing the lawn, splitting firewood, flowerbeds that need watering. The job has a natural rhythm that alternates between guest contact, fire cooking, and outdoor work.
We offer
Seasonal employment from approximately May 10 to August 31 with possibility of extension. Full-time with varying working hours. Possibility of simple accommodation (living including kitchen, shower, washing machine, etc.) is available near the facility.
