Transport Manager

About the role

As a transport manager with us, you are the linchpin in our operations. You are responsible for ensuring that our 25 vehicles run efficiently, but you also have a key role in fine-tuning our working methods to make us even sharper.

Your main challenges:

• Optimize operations: Plan and manage transport activities with a focus on maximum efficiency.
• Day-to-day leadership: Allocate resources and be the natural support for our drivers.
• Business value: Handle customer contacts, ensure high scanning quality, and prepare billing documentation.
• Vehicle responsibility: Plan service, inspections, and ensure that our fleet is in top condition.
• Development: You are expected to participate in identifying and implementing improvements in our flows and system support (e.g., Opter).

You report to the site manager and work closely with both drivers, workshop, and the office.

Who are we looking for?

We believe you are a person who gets things done. You don't need to know everything from day one, but you must have the willingness to learn and take initiative.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is humble and enjoys solving problems under time pressure.
• Finds it easy to talk to people and build good relationships (both with customers and in the break room).
• Is meticulous but also efficient.

It is a big plus if you have studied transport/logistics and/or have worked as a driver before and now want to take the step into the office. Having a CE license or technical knowledge of trucks is highly valuable, but your attitude is absolutely the most important thing for us.

The position is a permanent full-time employment with a start date as agreed. We apply a 6-month probationary period.

Stures Åkeri was founded in 1966 in Borås and is a well-established transport company. We handle both parcel goods and bulk goods for DHL in Västra Götaland and Småland. Today, we have a vehicle fleet of about 55 vehicles and conduct transport both locally and regionally. We actively work with sustainable transport, including through electric distribution in central Borås.
