Forklift Operator for the Herring Factory in Ellös

Sweden Pelagic is located in Ellös, Orust and specializes in the processing of herring. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of the fishing conglomerate Västkustfiskgruppen, which is owned by Swedish professional fishermen through membership in the Swedish West Coast Fishermen's Central Association. Sweden Pelagic receives large quantities of herring from vessels, which are then processed and filleted in our production to become raw materials for the canning industry. This product is then sold to customers both in Sweden and abroad. We are now seeking additional full-time employees who want to be part of our key personnel.

Job Description

We now need to strengthen our team of forklift operators at Sweden Pelagic's factory in Ellös.

You will be part of our team working with automated fish processing. The work will primarily consist of incoming deliveries from production to our storage in mountain vaults, as well as loading outgoing transports.

You will primarily handle herring barrels with special forks. We will provide internal training, and you will have an experienced colleague as a mentor for as long as needed. Other types of work will also occur, such as production operator in the factory during parts of the season.

The position involves a high degree of personal responsibility. Therefore, you need to be able to make quick decisions, be meticulous and structured. A forklift license is a requirement.

We are seeking both seasonal staff (August to October) and permanent staff with full-time indefinite employment. A probationary period of 6 months applies for permanent employment.

Our main production is highly seasonal, which means we have extended weeks during our high season, which primarily lasts from August to October. During this time, some weekend work is scheduled. This also means that during low and mid-season, you may need to work outside your regular areas of responsibility.

If needed, we have some access to accommodation near the workplace for those living farther away. We are affiliated with the collective agreement of the Food Workers' Union.
