Project Engineer in Railway Projects – Gothenburg

Do you want to work on socially critical infrastructure projects and contribute to the development of Sweden's railway? We are now seeking a project engineer for an exciting consulting assignment with a state-owned actor in transport infrastructure.

The assignment involves the role of project engineer in several railway projects, with a primary focus on overhead line projects, as well as work related to track and switch replacements and passing loops.

You will work closely with project managers and be a central part in planning, managing, and monitoring projects from design to production.

Scope: 80–100%

Location: Central Gothenburg (with elements of fieldwork during production)

Your Tasks

As a project engineer, you will:

• Support the project manager in the execution of the project
• Work with forecasts, cost monitoring, and invoice management
• Develop and monitor schedules
• Manage risks, safety, and traffic impact
• Work with quality, environment, and work environment issues
• Administer and structure projects in project management systems
• Participate in procurement and call-offs
• Plan and coordinate meetings and write minutes
• Prepare and drive project issues for decisions

An important part of the assignment is also to contribute to knowledge transfer to the client's internal organization.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who meet the following requirements:

• University or college degree in engineering, economics, or civil engineering (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3 years of experience (in the last 6 years) in railway projects in roles such as project engineer, contractor engineer, designer, work supervisor, or similar
• At least 2 years of experience in financial management (forecasts, cost monitoring, invoices)
• Experience in:
• Requirements management
• Risk management
• Schedule planning
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience with project administrative systems (e.g., C7, project portals, document management systems, or risk tools)
• Very good Swedish in speech and writing
• Class B driver's license
