Montessori Droppen is an F-6 independent school (and preschool) in central Haparanda where one of the cornerstones of our pedagogy is "help me to find myself," as we see each child as competent and with an inherent drive to become independent. Other fundamental ideas we adhere to and consider important are the interaction between adult, child, and a prepared environment for the children's lifelong learning.

We are now seeking you who are a trained teacher in wood and metal and who is passionate about solving educational challenges. We work together with the children for our shared work environment where everyone, both staff and students, should feel comfortable and secure.

Job Description

For the 2026/2027 school year, we are looking for You who are qualified to teach wood and metal, have a norm-critical approach, and want and can adapt teaching based on the students' conditions. We see health promotion as an important part of our work to create the best conditions for each child to succeed in school and assume that You are broadly interested in health and its significance for school success. Your assignment includes planning and implementing teaching and developing the educational activities.

We want you to be characterized by curiosity, respect, and appreciation in your encounters with the students, but also in meeting the pedagogy that we at Montessori Droppen practice. It is positive if you have knowledge of and/or experience with Montessori pedagogy, but above all, you should be interested and prepared to learn it. We have high goals for our work, not only that our students achieve the knowledge objectives but also for all children's well-being and security in school, and want you in collaboration with all other school staff to work to create a school climate where students respect each other and give and receive work peace.

Qualifications

You are a certified teacher and qualified to teach within wood and metal. Previous experience is meritorious.

Since the work is based on close collaboration with colleagues, principal, and guardians, approach and collaboration skills are important qualities. Working effectively to achieve common goals is part of your daily routine. The assignment includes, together with others, finding creative and flexible solutions to meet the individual's and group's needs and creating forms for real influence for the students in the school.
