About Tegnér's Preschool

Tegnér's preschool is a non-profit association and parent cooperative founded in 1988 and located in Gamla Limhamn. The preschool has an age-integrated department with 19 places for children aged 1 to 6 years. The work team currently consists of a principal/educator, two educators, a childcare worker, and a cook with childcare hours.

Administration is handled on a non-profit basis by the association's board, which consists of parents of children at the preschool. There is therefore close collaboration between educators and parents, and together we build a safe and developmental environment for the children.

The atmosphere at the preschool is characterized by community and warmth. Our working approach is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy – an educational approach based on a deep respect for the child and a belief that all children are born with a strong inherent drive to explore the world.

Your Job Duties

The position constitutes 90% of full-time; of which 75% as a cook and 15% in the child group.

Since we are a small preschool, the entire staff works closely together in tight collaboration. Otherwise, we consider it of great importance that we collectively take responsibility for all children and their development.

In the role as cook, the following is included:

• Plan weekly menus with a focus on nutrition, variety, and children's taste development
• Ordering and purchasing of raw materials
• Some budget responsibility related to meal and ingredient planning
• Preparing and cooking breakfast, lunch, and snacks in a safe and hygienic manner
• Consider allergies, special diets, and sustainability aspects
• Responsible for kitchen order, cleanliness, and food handling according to current procedures
• Create a pleasant mealtime and learning around food, as well as planning and implementing meal-related educational activities, in collaboration with other staff
• Daily cleaning of the children's toilet and responsibility for laundry
• Other job duties related to the position may arise as needed

A good foundation for meal planning and recipes is available, but new ideas and recipes are welcome!

In the role as childcare worker, the following is included:

· Participation in the daily activities with the child group, according to schedule.

Qualifications

A strong interest in cooking is a prerequisite, and if you have previous experience from work in a kitchen, it is meritorious. We also see that you are passionate about children and their development, and if you have previous experience in childcare, it is seen as a plus. If you are also interested in working together with educators, childcare workers, and parents and can contribute with creativity and positive energy, you are the right person for us!
