Personal Assistant for a Woman with ALS

We are looking for you who wants to work as a substitute when needed and for longer substitute periods as well as during the summer in a safe and experienced assistant team around a woman with ALS. It is double assistance around the clock and you will always work with a permanent staff member. She lives in her own home with her daughter and they have a shared cat and a dog. She has a tracheostomy, ventilator, and PEG, which means you will become an important part in providing life-essential support, security, and care in daily life.

🩺 About the Assignment

As a personal assistant, you help with:

• Respiratory support via ventilator and handling alarms.

• Tracheostomy care, including suctioning and daily maintenance.

• Feeding and care via PEG.

• Personal care, hygiene, and transfers.

• Support in daily routines and communication.

You will receive a thorough introduction and training before working independently but with support from permanent staff

💡 We are looking for you who

• Has experience with personal assistance or work in care and nursing.

• Preferably has knowledge of ventilator care, tracheostomy, or PEG, but the most important is that you are thorough, secure, and willing to learn.

• Is attentive, calm, and respectful in your approach.

• Has good collaboration skills and can take responsibility even in calm moments.

- Can speak and understand Swedish fluently.

- Is punctual and has high work ethic

You have a calm and secure manner, are attentive to details, and can maintain focus even in stressful situations. You enjoy working closely with a person and create security through care, respect, and professionalism. Must not have allergies as there are a dog and cat in the home

⏰ Working Hours and Scope

The work is done in 12-hour shifts and we are looking for both day substitutes, night substitutes, summer substitutes, and substitutes as needed.

Interviews and employment occur continuously.
