Handicraft Teacher

We are looking for an engaged handicraft teacher for our school starting autumn 2026.

Job Duties

In your work as a teacher in handicraft, you will teach students in grades 4-9. You participate as a teacher in the pedagogical development work and pedagogical documentation according to the compulsory school curriculum and operational goals. You should be well-acquainted with your teaching assignment based on current governing documents and have good knowledge in planning, implementing, documenting, following up, and developing the pedagogical activities together with the work team. With the curriculum as a base, you choose method, content, and approach based on each student's knowledge, experience, and specific conditions.

Qualifications

You who apply are a certified teacher with qualifications for teaching in metal, textile, and wood handicraft. Previous experience in the teaching profession is highly meritorious. You have good insight into and knowledge of the school's governing documents and can use them effectively in your daily work. Furthermore, you have good didactic and pedagogical ability and can therefore lead and organize your work to create a study environment and a good learning environment for our students throughout their school day. You are creative and can adapt your approach and pedagogical methods based on the individual student's needs or the student group's needs. You develop the pedagogical activities to be both fun, inspiring, and challenging. We assume that you see each student from a holistic perspective, have a positive view of students, and build good relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. You can develop your work based on evidence-based research and work effectively with relevant digital tools.

As a person, you are calm, stable, and attentive and have the ability to create a safe environment for the students. You have experience working independently and making decisions, but can also collaborate in a work team. Working with our students means that no day is the same as another. Daily condition determines which demands and activities work. Therefore, you need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt your working methods according to the operation's needs. It is necessary that you master good Swedish in speech and writing.
